Dr. Riley Deacon – Osteopath

Dr Riley Deacon is a fully registerd Osteopath who completed a Bachelor of Health Science and Applied Science (Osteopathy) at RMIT.

Osteopathy has helped Riley to understand the way the  body functions, both at times of ideal health and in times of strain.

It is the goal of the osteopath to promote and support the body’s mechanisms of self-regulation, self-maintenance and self-healing. This central pillar of osteopathic philosophy teaches us to intervene only where we deem necessary, so as not to create a problem where there previously wasn’t one.

Riley provides an individual approach to each treatment, balancing between direct
and indirect osteopathic techniques to achieve the desired outcome for both himself
and the patient. Riley also promotes a preventative approach to both acute and
chronic injury management by way of exercise rehabilitation, helping you to avoid
repeating the injury that brought you in initially!

Having spent the last ten years living and working in Melbourne, Riley is familiar with
many of the afflictions the city can cause the body. Riley is a strong believer in
constantly growing and learning and has a keen interest in research and development within the modern osteopathic profession.

“A moving door hinge never corrodes. Flowing water never grows stagnant.”

Outside of the clinic, Riley’s enjoys going for runs around the neighbourhood with his
dog Marlo, surfing through recipes for inspiration on what to cook next, and the
occasional dawn wake-up to watch Liverpool FC.
