Dr. Remy Burns – Osteopath

Dr Remy Burns is a fully qualified osteopath, having completed a Bachelor of Science (Osteopathy) and a Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) at Victoria University.

Remy’s journey into osteopathy began years ago after sustaining an injury during competitive rowing.

“My osteopath didn’t just want to alleviate the pain from the injury, but also investigated the cause and developed a plan to strengthen the weakened areas so that I could continue rowing at a highly competitive level.”

Working out the why behind injury, and developing strength-based rehabilitation alongside a holistic approach to manual therapy, has become central to Remy’s practice philosophy.

“It doesn’t matter how small or simple a rehabilitation movement is — strengthening the injured area and its surrounds is absolutely fundamental to recovery.”

“Whilst practicing in the CBD I’ve treated many patients with neck strain, headaches, shoulder pain, wrist/elbow pain and lower back pain so, whether it’s a niggle from sitting at a desk all day, pain from strenuous physical work, or truly debilitating pain, my goal is to support you through the treatment and healing process.”

“I don’t just want to treat a patient’s pain — I want to get to know them, understand their goals, and work alongside them so that together, we can reach a place of strength and health.”

When not treating patients, Remy can usually be found training in the gym for his sport in powerlifting, spending time with friends and family, or enjoying some much-needed rest and recovery.
